Our Most Urgent Task In The New Year

Late in December 1996, a large family gathered for a joyous Christmas in the city of Atlanta in Georgia, USA. There were so many gathered that night, five of the children slept in the converted garage, kept warm during the night by an electric heater placed near the door.

During the early hours of the morning, the heater suddenly burst into flames, blocking the doorway. In seconds the room became a blazing inferno. the frantic 911 call revealed the unspeakable terror as one of the children could be heard screaming, "I'm on fire!" The distraught father rushed into the flames to try to save his beloved children, recieving burns to 50%of his body. Tragically, all five(5) children burned to death. They died because steel bars on the windows thwarted their escape. There was only one door, and it was blocked by the flames.

Imagine you're back in time, just minutes before the heater burst into flames. You peer through the darkness at the peaceful sight of five(5) sleeping youngsters, knowing that at any moment the room will erupt into an inferno and burn the flesh of horrified children. Can you in good conscience walk away? NO! you must awaken them and warn them to run from that death trap! The world sleeps peacefully in the darkness of ignorance.

There is only one(1) door by which they may escape death. The steel bars of sin prevented their salvation, and at the same time call for the flames of Eternal Justice. What a fearful thing Judgement day will be! The fires of the wrath of Almighty GOD will burn for eternity. The Church has been enthrusted with the task of awakening them before it's too late. We cannot turn our backs and walk away in complacency. Think of how the father ran into the flames. His love knew no bounds. Our devotion to the sober task GOD has given us will be in direct proportion to our love for the lost. There are only a few who run headlong into the flames to warn them to flee(Luke 10:2). Please be one of them. We really have no choice. The apostle Paul said, "Woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel!" (1 corinthians 9:16).

The "Prince of preachers," Charles Spurgeon, said, "We need to be ashamed at the bare suspicion of unconcern." A christian cannot be apathetic about the salvation of the world. The love of GOD in him will motivate him to seek and save that which was lost. You probably have a limited amount of time after your conversion to impact your unsaved friends and family with the gospel. After their initial shock, they will put you in a neat little ribbon-tied box, and keep you at arm's length. So it's important that you take advantage of the short time you have while you still have their ears. See example of the man in Luke 8:38-39.

It is important to realise that we should share our faith with others whenever we can. The Bible says that there are only two times we should do this: "in season, and out of season" (2 Timothy 4:2). The apostle Paul pleaded for prayer for his own personal witness. He said, "Pray for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly as I ought to speak" (Ephesians 6:19,20).

Remember that you have the sobering responsibility of speaking to other peoples' loved ones. Perhaps another Christian has prayed earnestly that GOd should use a faithful witness to soeak to his beloved mom or dad, and you are the answer to that prayer. You are the true and faithful witness GOD wants to use.

Keep the faith of the ungodly before your eyes. Too many of us settle down on a padded pew and become introverted. Our world becomes a monastery without walls. Our friends are confined solely to those within the Church when Jesus was the "friend of sinners." So take the time to deliberately befriend the lost for the sake of their salvation. Remember that each and every person who dies in his sins has an appointment with the Judge of the Universe.Hell opens wide its terrible jaws. There is no more sobering task than to be entrusted with the gospel of salvation working with GOD for the eternal well-being of dying humanity.

Arise today brother/sister! Go out and preach!! Sleep no more!!! We must do the work while it is yet day...........

My New Year Resolution

Others may do as they please, I must not do what my fallen nature suggests lest i be drowned - I must do as he pleases. Why should I call Him Lord, Lord and not do what He wants? Others may decieve to recieve a blessing from man, my heart is fixed on recieving from GOD before whom all liars are cast away into eternal burnings. Others may follow multitudes to do evil, what is that to me? If I must go to Heaven, my company has to be few, for few there be that find the way of life. Though it's not always easy to be in the minority, the same GOD who helped Noah to stand told me "My grace is sufficient for thee". The temptations are there, to eat like others, dress like others,live like others but these others who have no Cross to bear are not a pattern for me. We cannot keep the same pace - I have a goal which they know nothing about.

others may serve some other gods - some serve their flesh, some careers, some money, some faithfully serve women, some are loyal servants of men, some bow to the god of fashion. I cannot - my GOD is in Heaven, these gods are in this passing world. I am born to burn for GOD. I neither will bend nor bow to any other god no matter how popular with others. Others may call the name of GOD in vain, call JESUS in such an insulting familiar way, my GOD is precious to me, my JESUS is high enough to be worshiped.

He is great enough to be my saviour. Others can work seven(7) days in the week, to provide adequately for this life. I have to remember my LORD and Home on the Lord's day. Others have no hope beyond this world and its no wonder they need to do and have their best here, I have a hope beyond today, a home beyond the stars, a life in the great beyond. Eternal things are real enough for me to give a whole day out of seven(7).

Others may lay up for themselves treasures in banks they muct prepare for rainy days I cannot lay up here for where my treasures is, there Jesus told me my heart will be. If i am not wise, my heart will be locked up in a safe deposit box and would miss the coming glory. You can do as u please, I cannot serve GOD and mammon. Others may fret and worry over material things and excuse themselves for so doing. others may kill themselves in their pursuit for place or position in life. Others may destroy themselves in anxiety over riches and success in life. "Come, my soul, enter into my chambers, and shut the doors about thee hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast" Yea while all these madness over dust, dung and dross? Oh, when shall it be when the voice of GOD call me home? I am sick at seeing multitudes of believers not remember my glorified Christ. I will soon depart this chaos to a place of rest. Others may have their hearts and heads on earth; my feet is on earth, my head is up, and my heart is in heaven, Lord thou knowest. Others may seek after all these before ever thinking of seeking after GOD earnestly. Theu never find what they seek, their flesh is never satisfied with pleasure. But even if they found them I must seek first the Kingdom of GOD and his righteousness. If i must keep the vision of eternity, maintain GOD'S holy fire burning in my breast, retain his oassion for souls and love for him, I cannot see or desire the world or any of the things of the world. Others of my colleagues sought after these things, how their hearts are dulled, their conscious seared, their eyes blinded by the god of this world. Theirs, should teach the lesson, I cannot seek or desire the world though others do. Others may scoff at the sound doctrines of the Bible and allow little sins, but i cannot. The buildings that are demolished were not pulled down by elephants, they were destroyed by termites. unless I am cleansed from evil thoughts, ill temper, anger, envy, lust, jealousy, pride, laziness, idleness, over eating and backbiting, I won't count myself as free from sin. Others may testify to being born-again and converted and still be conscious of all these in their lives. But what is that to me? I am called to follow Christ, looking on him I loose sight of all other example. others may be loved by their unbelieving relatives. I will not deny the faith to obtain favor of men. My Lord did not make a mistake when he told me "a man's foes shall be they of his own household" others may compromise and let down or lower the standard a little so as to save their lives from ridicle or persecution, I cannot. His word is ever too fresh in my heart "Whosoever shall deny me before men, him will i also deny before my father which is in Heaven" when he said whosoever, He was solmnly warning me. "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you. For so did their fathers to the false prophets" If I live as my Lord desires, I will recieve enough persecution, ridicule, reviling, false accusation, as to put a weight of glory on me up above. Others can laugh now while i walk along the way of the Cross. He that laughs last laughs best...............

Topic: Its been a while.....
Phew!!!, i am so glad i have been able to finish some of my home work in skool. Ok the whole truth is i have not been able to come online this few days cos i had so many things to do and that took my attention away from the computer for some days.
OK some things happened and i could say i aint really in da mood to narrate cos i have a headache.I guess i will do that when next i update
